2014 Jevington & Filching Programme of WI events
Each month there are a number of coach outings, learning opportunities and craft sessions organised by the ESFWI. These are available to all members and details are to be found in the monthly magazine “WI News” received by each of our members. For members with access to the internet these events are also on the ESFWI website
We organise our own events and support local events as well as the above and to date the following are on offer for 2014:
Gilt on the Gingerbread
1st and 2nd March 2014, Deans Place, Alfriston
Speakers including Melissa Waddington - Truffle Hunting and More. Pat Bryer - A flavour of Joyce Grenfell. Tom Coward - Head Gardener at Gravetye Manor.

Mah Jong Again - WI HQ, Hailsham
Friday, 21st February 10.00am -1.00pm
Come and try this absorbing game, experienced players and beginners alike. Tuition for beginners provided.
Cost £9.50 to include tea and homemade cakes in the interval.

Become a Moodler - WI HQ, Hailsham

The NFWI Moodle is the online place to visit to find out more about the WI and its activities.

Craft Day, Uckfield Civic Centre
3rd March 2014-10.00-4.00
2014 sees a new format to the day as there will be a craft market open from 9.00-2.00 as well as the usual 'Bits & Pieces' and Raffle. Tickets are 7.50. (ESFWI).
ESFWI ACM, Winter Garden, Eastbourne
26th March 1.3-4.30 - doors open 11.30 for sales stalls.
Speakers Matthew Collins, Radio presenter, author etc. and Christina Ewbank from Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce. Tickets £9.50 members £10.00 non-members. (ESFWI).
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate - WI HQ, Hailsham
28th March 2014-10.00-4.00
WIs who do lunches or teas need one member to hold a certificate which lasts 3-5 years. WI funds can be used for 1 member. Cost £40 to include exam fee and book. Closing date: 4th March. (ESFWI).
Out and About
As the weather is improving (we hope!) we'll take advantage of the Spring sunshine. (Jevington)
Guided tour - All that Glitters: The gems and jewels of London
Wednesday, 23rd April 2014 - various pick-ups.
Visiting the London Silver Vaults, diamond district Hatton Garden and more. Leave London at 4.45pm.

(Alfriston, East Dean, Jevington & Filching & Micheldene WIs) -Trip to Haskins Garden Centre, Worthing for lunch calling at the Sistine Chapel enroute.
Sadly this trip had to be cancelled.
NFWI AGM, Leeds
Speakers are now confirmed as Sir Andrew Motion, English poet & novelist; Dr George McGavin, entomologist, author & presenter; and Bill Turnbull, British journalist and presenter.
Tickets are £18 each and are on sale at local federation offices. Tickets are limited so be sure to get yours soon!

South of England Show
Jevington Fete - Rectory Fields, Jevington
(next to St Andrew's church)
Punch and Judy, Craft stalls, plants, Jevington Produce stall, Tombola, Cream Teas, Hog Roast, drinks tent with Real Ale and much, much more. Live music from the Hot Club of Jevington -Gypsy Jazz Quartet. Entry £2.00 - £1.00 senior citizens. Free parking.

Voting for Officers and Commitee members takes place for 2015.
